Does Ro Monthly Membership Include the Medication?

The short answer

No. Ro's monthly membership pays for care, not the medicine. The medication is a second bill, so your real total is the membership charge plus your exact pharmacy or cash-pay quote.

No. Ro's currently advertised monthly membership does not include the medication. The membership is $39 the first month, then $149 a month, or as low as $74 a month with a year paid upfront. It pays for your care. Medicine is a second bill. Ro pricing.

So the real answer to "does Ro monthly membership include the medication?" is a number: your two bills added together. With the advertised cash offers below, one medicine fill plus a $149 membership month comes to $298 to $598. That is a comparison, not a price cap or a promise about your bill. We'll also show you the prepay mix-up that can tie up hundreds of dollars, and how to avoid it. Ro prices · Lilly offer terms.

Your total depends on three things: which medicine and dose you take, which membership plan you pick, and whether insurance pays for the medicine.

Our take — Ro is a good fit if you:

  • want FDA-approved, brand-name Wegovy®, Zepbound®, or Foundayo™, not a compounded copy
  • don't have a doctor who will prescribe it and manage your doses
  • have insurance and want someone else to handle the paperwork

What we actually verified (September 23, 2026)

  • Ro's four ongoing membership rates and the $39 introductory month.
  • The advertised single-fill medicine prices below, checked against NovoCare and Lilly's published offers.
  • Membership benefits, billing, cancellation, and refund terms.
  • Novo Nordisk's multi-month Wegovy announcement and Ro's separate Wegovy HD pricing.
  • Not tested: your insurance, your eligibility, a paid checkout, delivery, or cancellation inside a member account. Every total on this page is our math from published prices.

Does Ro have a membership fee?

Yes. Ro charges a membership fee for its Ro Body weight-loss program: $39 for the first month, then $149 a month on the monthly plan. Prepaid plans drop the monthly rate to $99, $89, or $74, but you pay for 3, 6, or 12 months at once.

Think of Ro as two bills that live in one app:

  • Bill 1, the membership, pays for the people and the help: your provider, messages, check-ins, coaching, a lab test if ordered, and insurance paperwork.
  • Bill 2, the medicine, is the actual Wegovy, Zepbound, or Foundayo. It's priced by drug and dose.

Here's every membership plan Ro offers right now.

First year is a different number: staying monthly for your first 12 membership months costs $1,678: $39 + 11 × $149. The table's $1,788 is 12 months at the ongoing $149 rate. Paying $39 and then $888 buys the introductory month plus 12 more membership months—not 12 months total.

The takeaway: a smaller monthly number can mean a bigger charge today. Pick the plan you can pay upfront without stress, not just the one with the lowest monthly rate.

Why the price in the ad isn't your whole bill

If you thought the membership covered your medicine, you're in good company. Here's why it's so easy to read it that way.

Ro's pricing page says the membership includes "access to GLP-1 medication." Access means a provider can prescribe if appropriate and help arrange the fill. It doesn't mean the membership pays for it. Ro also says "Two separate charges" near the top of its pricing page and explains the extra medicine cost in its FAQ.

The difference is real money: $534 prepays six months of membership, not six months of medicine. Ro's terms say paid membership fees are nonrefundable. In a September 9, 2026 public response on BBB, Ro confirmed one customer's initial charges were $39 for membership plus $299 for medicine. Ro said it found no extra $149 membership charge and offered a one-time $39 refund. Two bills, from day one. Ro membership terms.

Does Ro monthly membership include the medication if I prepay?

No. Ro's 3-, 6-, and 12-month membership plans prepay your care only. Your medicine is still billed separately. Ro also advertises separate multi-month Wegovy medication plans; those prices do not include Ro membership.

This is the prepay mix-up we promised to show you. Ro has two different multi-month offers, and buying one does not buy the other.

These are advertised monthly rates—not a verified medication-payment schedule. Before choosing a medicine plan, get its full charge, number of fills, renewal terms, and refund rules. Do not assume its terms match the membership or that introductory medicine offers stack with it.

With both 12-month plans, the advertised rates add up to $249 for Wegovy + $74 for membership = $323. That is a combined rate, not a promise that only $323 will be charged each calendar month. The membership alone requires $888 upfront.

But prepaying ties up your money. One person posting in Ro's Reddit community put the feeling plainly:

"I want to be at 1 month at a time." — u/No_Role5447, in an r/RoBody thread about Ro's multi-month plans

Our rule: stay on the monthly plan for your first month or two. Once you know the medicine agrees with you, the ongoing cost fits, and you plan to stay, consider prepaying. Ro's terms say membership fees you've already paid aren't refunded, so prepay only when you're sure.

What does Ro's membership actually include?

Ro's membership includes a licensed provider, unlimited messaging, check-ins, coaching, side-effect help, dose changes, a lab test if your provider orders one, and help with insurance paperwork. It does not include the medicine, your copay, visits after your 24th in a year, or extra lab tests.

How much is the medication at Ro?

Ro's advertised cash offers below run from $149 to $449 per fill. On September 23, 2026, the single-fill offer prices matched NovoCare and Lilly's published prices for the same doses. Without an offer, some fills cost more. Some lower prices end December 31, 2026.

Ro carries Wegovy® (semaglutide) as a pill and a pen, Zepbound® (tirzepatide) as a KwikPen or pen, and Foundayo™ (orforglipron), a daily pill. Here's Bill 2 for each one.

What will I pay each month for Ro membership and medication together?

Add your membership rate to your medicine price. The advertised cash offers below add up to $298–$598 with one $149 membership month, or $223–$523 using the annual membership's $74 monthly equivalent. Prepaid amounts are not monthly charges, and one fill is not always a calendar month.

$699 (Zepbound 10–15 mg without the offer)$848$798$788$773
$25 insurance copay (example)$174$124$114$99

Our math from Ro's published prices, September 23, 2026. Each cell adds one fill to the membership's monthly rate. You pay prepaid membership blocks upfront. The $249 medicine row also requires its own 12-month medication plan; it is not a month-to-month drug offer. The two non-offer rows use Lilly’s regular self-pay prices. The $25 copay is an example, not a prediction.

Starting-dose examples (cash): $39 plus your first medicine fill is $188 for Wegovy pill 1.5 mg or Foundayo 0.8 mg, $238 for a qualifying Wegovy pen 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg fill, or $338 for Zepbound KwikPen 2.5 mg. A different starting prescription or offer eligibility changes that amount.

One honest heads-up: a starting-dose price is not a long-term budget. Your provider decides your dose. For example, a $299 pill fill plus monthly membership is $448, while a $449 Zepbound offer fill plus monthly membership is $598. With the annual membership's monthly equivalent, those comparisons are $373 and $523. Those are examples, not doses you should aim for.

Ro Two-Bill Check: write down what is due, not just the monthly rate Membership payment due: $39, $149, $297, $534, or $888, depending on your billing period and plan. Medicine payment due: your actual quote for this fill—or the full medication-plan payment you are agreeing to. Other confirmed charges: any extra tests, visits, supplies, or fees. Amount to budget for those payments: add the three lines. If a charge is unknown, ask for it; don't count it as $0. Worked example: after the introductory month, an $888 annual membership payment plus one $299 pill fill totals $1,187, before any extras. The monthly-rate comparison is $74 + $299 = $373, but that is not the cash needed for those two payments. Write down each charge date too.

When does Ro charge me, and can it charge me before my medicine arrives?

Yes, it can. Ro's membership starts when your provider writes your prescription and shares your care plan—not when your medicine arrives. Ro's terms say membership billing can continue even when you haven't received medicine. If you pay cash, medicine is a separate charge; with insurance, you pay your share at the pharmacy.

Here's the whole billing path, step by step.

So two charges in the same week can be legitimate: one for membership and one for medicine. Match each charge to its receipt rather than assuming every second charge is correct.

Your two bills run on different clocks

Your membership bills by its 1-, 3-, 6-, or 12-month period. Medicine is priced by the fill, unless you choose a separate multi-month medicine plan. And a fill isn't always a month.

The weekly-shot offers in this guide use a 4-week supply. That's 28 days. Thirteen such fills cover 364 days, not a full 365- or 366-day year. Daily pill fills contain 30 tablets, so 12 fills cover 360 days. Over time, your two charges can drift onto different dates.

Here's what the published prices buy when the dose and offer price stay the same. These are purchased-supply totals, not complete calendar-year budgets.

Our math from NovoCare's package sizes and prices, Lilly's Zepbound terms, and Foundayo terms. Prices checked September 23, 2026. The membership columns add 12 ongoing months of care, excluding the $39 introductory month. They do not extend the medicine supply. These examples assume unchanged prices and continued offer eligibility; they are not future price guarantees or dose recommendations. Extra charges are not included.

Budget beyond 12 fills for a weekly shot. At $449, the 13th Zepbound fill adds $449. Depending on your start date and refill dates, a 14th purchase can fall before your first anniversary; part of that supply carries into the next year. For daily pills, a 13th 30-tablet fill brings the purchased supply to 390 days, not 360.

What about the $249 Wegovy medication plan? Twelve advertised $249 monthly rates add up to $2,988; with $888 membership, the rate-based total is $3,876. With 12 ongoing $149 membership payments, it is $4,776. Those calculations do not establish how many pens the medicine plan supplies or when payments occur. Get that plan's fill count and billing schedule before treating it as a full-year budget. Ro's advertised plan.

Is Ro charging more for the medicine than Lilly or Novo?

No—not on the advertised single-fill offers we checked. On September 23, 2026, Ro's listed Wegovy, Foundayo, and Zepbound KwikPen offer prices matched the manufacturer prices shown above. Membership is extra, and certain visits, tests, or supplies can add to the bill.

Here's the one real trade-off, straight.

Ro does NOT roll your medicine into one monthly price. If one all-in number is your top priority, compare programs that actually include medicine—not just programs without a membership fee. Compare those here. Some bundled programs offer compounded GLP-1s. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved; they are not the same product as an FDA-approved brand.

But Ro sells FDA-approved Wegovy, Zepbound, and Foundayo at the drug makers' published offer prices. No markup on the medicine offers we checked. And when your insurance covers the medicine through Ro, you pay your plan's pharmacy charge instead of the cash price. Your membership buys the provider, the dose changes, the side-effect help, and someone to handle your insurance. Ro pricing · Ro insurance.

That two-bill setup is not unique to Ro. Sesame, for example, lists its weight-loss program at $99 month-to-month, or from $59 a month with an annual subscription, with medicine billed separately.

So who should pay for Ro's membership? Here's our take, based on the facts above.

Will insurance pay for the Ro membership or the medication?

Insurance may pay for the medicine, but Ro does not bill insurance for this membership. Ro lists the Wegovy pen, Zepbound single-dose pen, and Ozempic for insurance help. If your plan covers the prescribed drug, you pay your share at the pharmacy plus Ro's membership fee.

Here's how it works when you use insurance with Ro:

  1. Ro checks your benefits. Its team calls your insurer to see if your medicine is covered.
  2. Ro files the paperwork. If your plan needs prior authorization, Ro's insurance team helps submit it. Ro estimates about 2 to 3 weeks for the broader insurance process—not a guaranteed approval date.
  3. You pick up at your pharmacy. If you're approved, the prescription goes to your pharmacy and you pay your share there.
  4. If insurance says no, Ro can discuss an appeal, another suitable medication, or FDA-approved cash-pay options. Ro insurance process.

The Wegovy pill, Foundayo, and Zepbound KwikPen are cash-pay only through Ro.

Some commercial insurance plans pair with a drug maker's savings card. Novo's Wegovy savings card can bring an eligible covered patient's charge as low as $25, with up to $100 in savings per monthly fill. Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE are excluded from that copay-card offer (NovoCare). For example, a $200 pharmacy charge minus the full $100 saving leaves $100—not $25. That example assumes you qualify and have the full saving available.

Not sure if you're covered? Ro's coverage checker is free, even if you never join. Ro calls your insurer and emails you a report. It checks the Ozempic, Wegovy, and Zepbound pens. A report is not a prescription and not an insurance approval. It just tells you where you stand.

On Medicare? The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge offers eligible Part D members a $50 copay per monthly supply of Wegovy pills or injections, Foundayo, or the Zepbound KwikPen—not Zepbound's single-dose pens or vials. To cancel: go to your Ro Body plan in your Ro account, or contact Ro support. Save the confirmation email. Set a reminder a few days before your renewal date so you have time before the 48-hour cutoff. Check the separate medication subscription and any pending order too; stopping membership renewal is not a medicine-refund request. Ro terms · Ro's public billing explanation.

One thing to know: once your paid time ends, Ro's providers stop writing your prescriptions. Ro recommends talking with your provider before you stop a medicine. Ro terms.

Are there any other Ro fees?

Yes, a few. Ro's terms charge $15 for each consultation after 24 in a year and allow charges for extra lab tests. Losing a Lilly refill offer changes the published medicine price by $50 to $250, depending on dose. Zepbound KwikPen needles are separate supplies.

  • $15 per visit after your 24th visit in a year (Ro Terms of Use)
  • Extra lab tests: priced by the test your provider orders (Ro terms)
  • At-home lab kit: get Ro's quote before choosing this collection method; the public fee terms do not list a fixed kit charge
  • KwikPen needles: Ro's guide says to request a separate prescription; confirm the supplies and their price
  • Shipping: Ro’s program guide says its cash-pay options ship at no extra cost. Check that your order total matches.
  • Lost 45-day purchase offer: Lilly lists $499 rather than $449 for Zepbound 7.5 mg, $699 rather than $449 for Zepbound 10–15 mg, and $349 rather than $299 for Foundayo 14.5 and 17.2 mg. Confirm the actual refill charge with the dispensing pharmacy. Zepbound terms · Foundayo terms.

How did we check this, and where do Ro's own pages disagree?

We compared Ro's pricing, how-it-works, insurance, and product pages and its Terms of Use with the drug makers' own price pages on September 23, 2026. Every total on this page is our math from those published prices. We didn't make a purchase or check anyone's insurance.

We publish independently, and we dig because the fine print is where people lose money. We checked the Ro and manufacturer sources linked here, including their offer conditions and package sizes. Then we added up both bills for every membership plan so you don't have to.

Our rule: use Ro's current pricing page and the manufacturer's offer terms rather than an older Ro article. If your checkout differs, stop and ask Ro to explain the difference before paying. Always read the checkout total before you pay.

One more note: Ro's general Terms of Use leave room for some plans to include medicine. The Ro Body membership Ro advertises today does not. That's the one this page covers.
