Does Ro have Wegovy pill right now — and is it the real thing?

Yes. As of September 23, 2026, Ro lists all four doses of Novo Nordisk's Wegovy pill (1.5, 4, 9 and 25 mg), the tablet form of semaglutide the FDA approved for weight loss on December 22, 2025. Ro has offered it since the U.S. launch on January 5, 2026, and it is the brand-name drug, not a compounded copy.

Ro wasn't a late add. Novo Nordisk launched the pill on Ro the same day it hit the U.S. market. In Ro's launch announcement, a Novo Nordisk executive said patients could get it "from diagnosis to payment to delivery, all in one place." Ro launch announcement · Approval announcement

Why "real" matters this year. In February 2026, Hims & Hers announced a compounded semaglutide pill with a $49 first-month offer. It was not FDA-approved Wegovy. On February 6, the FDA announced plans to restrict ingredients used in mass-marketed, unapproved compounded GLP-1 drugs and specifically named Hims & Hers. That was an announced enforcement plan, not a finding that every compounded prescription is illegal. Compounded drugs are prepared for patient needs and are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review their safety, effectiveness or quality before they are marketed. They should not be presented as approved Wegovy or as interchangeable with it. FDA compounding guidance

Ro's weight-loss menu, as we saw it on September 23, lists only brand-name medicines: the Wegovy pill, Wegovy pen, Foundayo pill, Zepbound, Zepbound KwikPen, Ozempic and Saxenda. Ro's site also shows a LegitScript seal. Ro pill page

How to check your bottle. The FDA label describes real Wegovy tablets:

• Each bottle holds 30 tablets — one month.
• Each tablet has its strength on one side and "novo" on the other.
• The 1.5, 4 and 9 mg tablets are round. The 25 mg tablet is oval.
• They stay in the original bottle at room temperature. No fridge needed.

These details come from the prescribing information. Appearance alone cannot prove that a medicine is genuine. If the bottle, label or tablets look wrong, ask the dispensing pharmacist before taking them.

How much do Wegovy pills cost on Ro?

On Ro, the Wegovy pill costs $149 a month for 1.5 mg, $199 for 4 mg, and $299 for 9 mg or 25 mg. Ro's membership is a separate charge: $39 the first month, then $149 a month, or less on a prepaid plan. Once you reach the full 25 mg dose, the standard monthly-plan total is $448. What does each dose cost?

A "month" means one bottle of 30 tablets.

Notice the jump. At these listed prices, your pill bill roughly doubles between the first bottle ($149) and the third ($299). Those are the published dose prices. The FDA label starts a new patient low and steps up every 30 days to reduce stomach side effects; the clinician can delay a step if needed. What does the Ro membership cost?

Confirm the exact up-front amount at checkout. Ro publishes these monthly equivalents. Multiplying them gives $297, $534 and $888, but those are calculations from the displayed rates, not checkout totals we personally verified. Ro pricing

Three things to know:

• The introductory refund has a rule. Ro advertises a $39 refund for GLP-1 ineligibility. Its terms also say that if medication is never prescribed, your purchase price is refunded and you aren't enrolled in the renewing membership. That is not a general satisfaction guarantee. Ro terms
• The membership doesn't include this pill. Ro calls membership and medication "two separate charges." Insurance doesn't pay for the membership either. Ro pricing

When will Ro charge you?

Two tips that help you check a bill:

• There are two clocks. Your membership renews on its own date. Your pills come in 30-tablet bottles. So two charges can land close together. Check what each charge covers rather than assuming it is a duplicate.
• A $149 charge right after your $39 may be your pill — not your membership. The starting dose costs $149 too. Ro says it charges for medicine only after a clinician approves your treatment plan. Ro pricing

This is an example, not a promise. Your clinician may keep you on a dose longer, and prepaid plans change the numbers. Four bottles are 120 days of pills at one tablet a day; four membership periods have their own dates. This is not a guaranteed 120-day bank statement.

What's the cheapest way to pay at Ro?

The lowest advertised ongoing combination is annual membership plus the 12-month pill offer for 9 mg or 25 mg. At 25 mg, that is $74 + $249 = $323 per month equivalent. Where the 12-month pill price comes from: in March 2026, Novo Nordisk set multi-month prices for the 9 mg and 25 mg pill — $289 a month for 3 months, $269 for 6 months and $249 for 12 months — and named Ro as one of the first places to offer them. The upfront-payment check: At the advertised $249 rate, twelve medication months equal $2,988, before membership. Twelve membership months at the displayed $74 equivalent equal $888. Those are calculations, not a verified combined checkout quote. Do not budget just $323 for the month a prepaid plan starts.

The math, so you can check us:

• Monthly-plan example: Membership $39 + (11 × $149) = $1,678. Pills $149 + $199 + (10 × $299) = $3,338. Total: $5,016 for 12 membership charges and 12 bottles.
• Annual membership comparison: $149 − $74 = $75 less per month equivalent than standard monthly membership. Twelve months at that difference equal $900.
• Annual medication comparison: $299 − $249 = $50 less per eligible medication month. Twelve such months equal $600.

The first example covers 360 tablets, not 365 days. The annual savings comparisons cover full 12-month plans, not eleven membership months after an introduction or ten higher-dose fills after two starter bottles. That is why we do not call an allocated prepaid total your first-year cash bill.

Can you use insurance or Medicare for the Wegovy pill at Ro?

No. Ro lists the Wegovy pill as cash-pay only. Its insurance page lists support for the Wegovy pen, the Zepbound autoinjector pen and Ozempic — not this pill. Ro also doesn't handle coverage for Medicare, Medicare supplement plans or TRICARE, and Medicaid members can't join Ro's weight-loss program. Ro pill offer · Ro insurance rules

Your insurance covers the Wegovy pill

Novo Nordisk's savings offer can bring the pill down to as little as $25 a month if your commercial plan covers it. The offer takes up to $100 a month off, and it isn't for Medicare, Medicaid or other government plans. But Ro can't run your insurance for the pill. You need a prescriber who can provide the required paperwork and a pharmacy that bills your plan. The $25 figure is a minimum, not a promised copay: the pill offer saves at most $100 per month. • Have a doctor? Ask them to send the prescription to your usual pharmacy.
• No doctor? Sesame lets you pick a clinician for a video visit and offers help with medication prior authorization — your plan's approval step before it pays. You have Medicare

Since July 1, 2026, eligible people with Medicare Part D coverage can get Wegovy tablets for a $50 monthly medication copay through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge. It runs through December 31, 2027. All Wegovy pill strengths are included, but having Part D alone is not enough. Part D plans do not need to opt in. CMS program rules

For weight management, CMS requires age 18 or older, nutrition and physical-activity support, and one of these starting points:

CMS defines uncontrolled blood pressure here as systolic above 140 or diastolic above 90 despite two blood-pressure medicines. Prior authorization is required. These are program criteria, not a self-diagnosis tool. CMS eligibility criteria

The Bridge excludes people with type 2 diabetes, moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea, or noncirrhotic MASH with moderate-to-advanced liver scarring. Those readers should ask about regular Part D coverage for a drug approved for their condition. Mild sleep apnea or any form of fatty liver disease is not the same as those specific exclusions. If Wegovy is prescribed to reduce major cardiovascular events, CMS directs that prescription to the regular Part D plan instead. CMS coverage distinctions

CMS also excludes beneficiaries who already received a GLP-1 drug covered by Part D in 2026. That is different from having paid cash for one. CMS prior-coverage rule

How to start: Ask your prescriber to send the prescription to a pharmacy first. The pharmacy claim starts the Bridge check; the prescriber then supplies the required prior authorization. At the 25 mg dose, that's $50 rather than the $299 standard cash medication price — a $249 difference per fill, before any visit costs. The Bridge does not require a Ro membership. You have Medicaid or TRICARE

Medicaid members can't join Ro's weight-loss program. Ro says people with TRICARE or Medicare may qualify for cash-pay options, but it won't process those plans. Confirm access to the specific pill before paying; eligibility for a cash-pay program is not a guaranteed Wegovy tablet prescription. Check your plan's rules first. Is Ro the cheapest place to get the Wegovy pill?

So why do people choose Ro?

• It was there from day one. Novo Nordisk launched the pill on Ro on January 5, 2026.
• One place to manage treatment. Online medical review and home delivery if prescribed. No insurance is needed for the pill, although a clinician may request lab work.
• Other options to discuss if the pill doesn't suit you. Ro also carries Foundayo (a pill with no empty-stomach rule) and the Wegovy pen, for which it offers insurance support. Your clinician must decide whether switching is appropriate.
• A cheaper membership once you commit. With Ro's 12-month membership, a standard 25 mg fill plus membership averages about $373. The membership itself is $75 less per month equivalent than Hims' standard $149 monthly membership. With Novo's 12-month pill offer as well, the equivalent drops to about $323. Those comparisons require prepayment at Ro.

Will Ro actually prescribe you the Wegovy pill?

Only if a licensed clinician decides it's right for you. You start with an online health questionnaire, and Ro says you'll know whether you're eligible within 2 days; cash-pay patients can take a first dose in under a week. Who can get the Wegovy pill?

For weight management, the FDA approved the Wegovy pill, with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, for adults who have:

• Obesity (usually a BMI of 30 or higher), or
• Overweight (usually a BMI of 27 or higher) plus at least one weight-related health problem, like high blood pressure.

It's for adults only — the pill isn't approved for teens. It is also approved to reduce major cardiovascular events in adults with established cardiovascular disease and overweight or obesity. How does it work?

2. Clinician review. A licensed clinician reviews your answers and may ask for lab work.
3. Prescription and delivery. If the pill is right for you, it ships to your door.

Ro says you'll get an eligibility answer within 2 days and your first dose in under a week when paying cash. We haven't tested that ourselves. In the September 2026 reviews we read, some praised fast approvals, and one reported 2–3 business-day message replies. Those anecdotes do not establish a typical wait time. What if Ro offers you a different medicine?

In the same Reddit thread, a reader asked whether the Wegovy pill was guaranteed — or whether a different pill could be sent instead. Fair question. Your clinician decides. Ro also carries Foundayo and the Wegovy pen, so you may be offered one of those.

Two ways to protect yourself:

• Say what you want up front. If you want the Wegovy pill — say, because you hate needles — tell the clinician in your visit.
• Ask before any prescription is issued. Ro's terms promise a refund if medication is never prescribed. That does not clearly answer what happens if a different medication is prescribed and you decline it. Ask before agreeing to a treatment you did not come for. Ro terms

What are you agreeing to when you join Ro?

Ro's membership renews automatically until you cancel it. Ro's terms say to cancel at least 48 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. After membership begins, Ro's terms say paid membership fees are nonrefundable. The separate onboarding rule says that if medication is never prescribed, your purchase price is refunded and you are not enrolled. Ro terms

Billing surprises are easier to avoid when you know what you've agreed to. Here's the fine print in plain words.

• It renews on its own. Whatever plan you pick — monthly, 3, 6 or 12 months — keeps renewing until you cancel.
• Stopping pills doesn't stop the membership. Pausing refills and canceling your membership are two separate steps.
• Cancel 48 hours early. Cancel at least 48 hours before your renewal date, or you'll be charged for the next period.
• Paid membership fees stay paid. You keep access through the time you paid for. Do not assume an annual membership gives you prorated refunds if you stop early.
• No membership, no pill through Ro. Ro requires an active membership to get medicine.
• Breaks can reset your dose. If you stop for a while, your clinician may restart you on a lower dose. The label doesn't set a fixed rule for long breaks on the pill, so your clinician decides — and your bill moves with the dose.
• Messaging is not round-the-clock medical care. Ro's terms say providers review messages within 48 hours or sooner and respond during business hours: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Eastern, excluding holidays. For a medical emergency, call 911. Ro terms

How to cancel: In your Ro account, open Ro Body, then Program Details, then Cancel Subscription. Save the confirmation and check that it shows the correct end date. Ro carries two FDA-approved weight-loss pills: the Wegovy pill (semaglutide) from Novo Nordisk and Foundayo (orforglipron) from Eli Lilly, approved April 1, 2026. The Wegovy pill must be taken on an empty stomach with a small sip of water and a 30-minute wait, while Foundayo can be taken any time, with or without food. These were different trials, so the numbers can't be compared head to head. Both studied adults with overweight or obesity without diabetes, alongside diet and activity changes. One clear difference is the routine. If a 30-minute morning wait just won't happen, ask your clinician about Foundayo. Ro's advertised $149 starting price excludes membership. Foundayo's temporary 2.5 mg and 5.5 mg prices run through December 31, 2026. Its $299 offer for 14.5 mg and 17.2 mg requires refilling within 45 days to keep that price; otherwise regular $349 pricing applies. How do you take the Wegovy pill, and what side effects should you expect?

Take one Wegovy tablet each morning on an empty stomach with no more than 4 ounces of plain water, then wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other oral medicines. Stomach problems like nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and constipation are the most common side effects. The label has a boxed warning about thyroid tumors seen in rodents; whether this happens in people isn't known. Prescribing information

Your morning routine

1. Wake up. Take one tablet with a sip of plain water — 4 ounces at most (half a cup).
2. Swallow it whole. Don't split, crush or chew it.
3. Wait at least 30 minutes before food, coffee, other drinks or other pills.

The hard part may not be the pill. It may be the coffee wait. If you take thyroid medicine (levothyroxine) in the morning, tell your clinician. A study in the Wegovy label found increased thyroxine exposure when the medicines were taken together. Ask your clinician how to time your medicines and whether you need monitoring; don't move or skip a prescribed medicine on your own. Prescribing information

• Days 31–60: 4 mg
• Days 61–90: 9 mg
• Day 91 on: 25 mg — the dose you stay on

Can you stay on a lower dose to save money? Not as a plan. The label names 25 mg as the dose to stay on. There's no lower "maintenance" pill dose. If 25 mg is too rough, the label says your clinician may switch you to the weekly 1.7 mg Wegovy pen. If side effects are hard, your clinician can also slow down the steps.

Missed a dose? Skip it. Take your next tablet the next day.

Coming from the Wegovy pen? The label says people on the 2.4 mg pen can start the 25 mg pill one week after their last shot. Your clinician decides.

Side effects and warnings

• Common: In the main trial, 74% of people on the pill had stomach side effects, compared with 42% on placebo. These included nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation. OASIS 4 publication
• Serious but less common: The label warns about pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, kidney problems from dehydration and serious allergic reactions.
• Thyroid warning: Semaglutide caused thyroid C-cell tumors in rodents. It isn't known if this happens in people. Don't take it with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or if you have MEN 2.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: For weight loss, stop Wegovy when pregnancy is recognized and contact your clinician. Stop at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy. Breastfeeding isn't recommended while taking the tablets.
• Other medicines and conditions: Do not combine it with another semaglutide product or GLP-1 medicine. Tell your clinician about insulin or sulfonylureas, severe stomach-emptying problems, diabetic eye disease and any planned procedure with anesthesia or deep sedation. These can change your care plan. Get urgent medical help for severe, lasting stomach pain, and call 911 for trouble breathing or swelling of the face or throat. Contact your clinician if vomiting or diarrhea keeps you from staying hydrated. These are not the only possible side effects. Wegovy safety information

What happens if Ro says I'm not eligible?

How long does it take to get the Wegovy pill from Ro?

Ro says you'll know if you're eligible within 2 days, and cash-pay patients can take a first dose in under a week. We didn't test this ourselves. Ro pill offer

I have Medicare. Should I use Ro?

Is Ro's Wegovy pill the same as the one from Hims?

Yes, when Hims prescribes brand-name Wegovy tablets. That is Novo Nordisk's FDA-approved medicine, not the compounded semaglutide pill Hims advertised with a $49 first-month offer in February 2026. Can I switch from the Wegovy pen to the pill on Ro?

Does the Wegovy pill work as well as the shot?

These separate trials don't prove that the pill and shot work equally well. In its main trial, the pill averaged 13.6% weight loss at 64 weeks. The 2.4 mg shot averaged 14.9% at 68 weeks in its main trial. Both studied adults without diabetes and included lifestyle support. These were different studies. OASIS 4 · STEP 1

Can I cancel Ro anytime?
