Ro Wegovy pen pricing for cash payers is $199 a month for your first two fills at 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg, then $349 a month for every dose up to 2.4 mg, and $399 for Wegovy HD. That's the same price NovoCare charges. Ro adds its own membership: $39 for the first month, then $74 to $149 a month. With insurance, your plan sets the medicine price.
So the real question isn't the sticker price. It's whether Ro's membership is worth paying on top of it. The table below shows the whole bill, fill by fill and for a full year.
The RX Index is the independent GLP-1 decision resource that scores telehealth providers and treatment paths on clinical legitimacy, care quality, transparency, access, and cost, so readers can choose the path that fits their situation.
RX Index Decision Verdict: Ro is a solid way to get the real Wegovy pen if you don't already have a prescriber, or if you want someone else to handle insurance paperwork.
- Best for: people with commercial insurance who want help with prior authorization, and cash payers who want a prescriber, delivery and follow-up in one place.
- Not ideal for: people who already have a doctor willing to prescribe Wegovy (NovoCare charges the same medicine price with no membership), and anyone on Medicaid, which Ro doesn't accept.
- The factor that matters most: whether your plan covers Wegovy. Coverage can drop the medicine to a copay, but the Ro membership is always cash.

| Wegovy pen 0.25 mg to 2.4 mg, after the intro | $349 a month | Same price at every dose in that range |
| Wegovy HD 7.2 mg pen | $399 a month | Only if your Ro provider decides HD fits |

| Ro Body membership, first month | $39 | Refunded if you're not eligible |
| Ro Body membership, after month one | $74 to $149 a month | $74 on a 12-month plan paid up front; $149 month to month |
| Medicine with insurance | Your plan's copay | Only the Wegovy pen (not the pill) can go through insurance on Ro |
Prices are from Ro's pricing page and NovoCare, checked October 31, 2026. Ro says its cash prices match NovoCare's, and on that date they did, dose for dose. Wegovy's list price is $1,349.02 for a box of four pens, but almost no one using these cash programs pays that.
One honest limit: Ro also offers "Prepay & Save" medicine plans that it says can save up to $1,800 a year on Wegovy pens. Ro didn't post those prepaid prices on its public pricing page when we checked, so we can't show them. You'd see them during signup.

What does Wegovy really cost on Ro for a full year?
Your first year of the Wegovy pen on Ro, paying cash, comes to about $5,164 to $5,915 in our math. The low end uses Ro's 12-month membership paid up front; the high end pays the membership month to month. Both assume a new patient on doses up to 2.4 mg.
Think of it as the whole receipt, not just the sticker. Ro bills the membership by the month. NovoCare counts one box of four weekly pens as a month, so a 52-week year takes 13 boxes.
| Month | Medicine | Membership, month-to-month | Total, month-to-month | Total with 12-month plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Month 1 (0.25 mg) | $199 | $39 | $238 | $238 |
| Month 2 (0.5 mg) | $199 | $149 | $348 | $1,087 ($199 plus the $888 plan, paid once) |
| Month 3 onward (1 mg to 2.4 mg) | $349 | $149 | $498 | $349 |
| Wegovy HD 7.2 mg, if prescribed | $399 | $149 | $548 | $399 |
| First year (52 weeks) | Month-to-month membership | 12-month membership |
|---|---|---|
| Medicine, 13 four-pen boxes | $4,237 | $4,237 |
| Membership, 12 months | $1,678 | $927 |
| Total | $5,915 | $5,164 |
All totals are our math from Ro's posted prices. Three things change them:
- The 12-month plan is paid at once. "$74 a month" is $888 charged up front after your $39 first month. We read Ro's terms as covering the 12 months after month one.
- The $199 price is for new patients only. It covers two fills at 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg. After that, every pen dose up to 2.4 mg is $349.
- Your dose is your provider's call. Wegovy's label starts at 0.25 mg a week for four weeks and steps up every four weeks to a usual 2.4 mg dose. Ro's price stays $349 at each step, so going up a dose doesn't raise your bill unless you move to HD.
The right Wegovy path isn't the same for everyone. It depends on your state, your insurance and its drug list, whether you want a pen or a pill, and your budget. If you're not sure Ro is your best route, The RX Index's Find My GLP-1 Path tool is free, takes about 2 minutes and needs no signup.

How does getting Wegovy through Ro work?
You start with an online health visit on Ro. A Ro-affiliated provider reviews it and prescribes Wegovy only if it's appropriate for you. Then you either pay cash and get the pen shipped, or Ro checks your insurance first.
Here's the path, using Ro's own timelines:
- Online visit. You answer health questions online. Ro says you'll find out if you're eligible within 2 days. You're only charged the membership if you're eligible.
- Prescription, if appropriate. A provider decides whether Wegovy, or another medicine, fits your health history.
- Cash or insurance. Paying cash, Ro says your first dose can arrive in less than a week. Using insurance, Ro's team checks coverage and handles prior authorization, which Ro says usually takes 1 to 2 weeks.
- Ongoing care. The membership includes unlimited messaging with your provider, help with side effects and dose changes, weight and dose tracking, and 1:1 health coaching.
Who Wegovy is for comes from its FDA label: adults with obesity, or adults with overweight plus at least one weight-related health problem, used with a reduced-calorie diet and more activity. It's also approved to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke and heart-related death in adults with heart disease and obesity or overweight, and the shot is approved for a liver condition called MASH in some adults. If you're not sure where your BMI falls, Ro's visit and your provider will work through it.
A small detail that surprises people: the prescription copy in your Ro account is for reference only. Ro says you can't use it to fill or transfer the prescription yourself, though you can pick a pharmacy during your visit.
Can you use insurance for Wegovy on Ro?
Yes, for the Wegovy pen. Ro says only the Wegovy pen, Zepbound autoinjector pen and Ozempic can go through insurance on Ro. The Wegovy pill is cash only. Insurance never pays for the Ro membership itself.
If your plan needs prior authorization (a permission slip from your insurer before it pays), Ro's insurance team gathers the paperwork, submits it and talks to your insurer for you. If it's denied, Ro says its team can file an appeal, or your provider may try a different covered medicine. If nothing gets covered, you can switch to cash pay or cancel the membership.
What it can cost with coverage:
| Situation | Medicine | Membership | What to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan covers Wegovy, you have commercial insurance | Your copay; Novo's savings offer says you may pay as little as $25 a month, up to $100 a month in savings | $39, then $74 to $149 a month | Savings offer has eligibility rules and isn't for government plans |
| Plan covers Wegovy only after prior authorization | Your copay once approved | Same | Ro says reviews usually take 1 to 2 weeks |
| Plan denies Wegovy | Cash price, $199 then $349 | Same | Paying cash outside your plan doesn't count toward your deductible, per NovoCare |
Say you're 41, your employer plan covers Wegovy after prior authorization, and your copay qualifies for Novo's $25 offer. That's a hypothetical, but it shows the math: $25 for the medicine plus $149 for a month-to-month membership is $174 a month. On the 12-month plan, it works out to about $99 a month, with $888 paid up front.
Ro's coverage check is free and doesn't commit you to the membership.

Can you get Wegovy on Ro with Medicare or Medicaid?
Medicaid: no. Ro says patients with Medicaid and some other government-funded plans aren't eligible for treatment on Ro. Medicare, Medicare supplement and TRICARE: Ro says you may still qualify for cash-pay options, but Ro won't run your medicine through those plans.
Federal employees with an FEHB plan are the exception: Ro says they can use its insurance team. Novo's $25 savings offer excludes government beneficiaries, so it doesn't help Medicare or TRICARE members. If you have Medicare, start with our guide on whether Medicare covers Wegovy before paying cash anywhere.
Is Ro cheaper than buying Wegovy from NovoCare?
No. The medicine costs the same on both, so Ro costs more by the amount of its membership. NovoCare, Novo Nordisk's own pharmacy program, sells the Wegovy pen for $199, then $349, then $399 for HD, with no membership. But NovoCare doesn't prescribe. You need your own prescriber.
| Ro | NovoCare direct | |
|---|---|---|
| Wegovy pen cash price | $199 intro, then $349; HD $399 | $199 intro, then $349; HD $399 |
| Membership | $39, then $74 to $149 a month | None |
| Prescriber included | Yes, a Ro-affiliated provider | No, bring your own |
| Insurance paperwork help | Yes, for the pen | No; NovoCare's savings offer applies at the pharmacy |
| First-year total, cash (our math) | $5,164 to $5,915 | $4,237 |
So the $927 to $1,678 a year you pay Ro buys the prescriber, the insurance team and ongoing check-ins. If you already have a doctor who'll prescribe Wegovy and manage your doses, NovoCare is the cheaper path. If you don't, or your insurance fight is the hard part, that's what Ro's membership is for. Our NovoCare Wegovy cash price vs insurance guide walks through the direct route.
Wegovy pen, pill or HD on Ro: which one?
All three are FDA-approved Wegovy, the brand-name semaglutide, and Ro sells each at the same cash price as NovoCare. The pen is a once-a-week shot and the only form you can run through insurance on Ro. The pill is a daily tablet, cash only. Wegovy HD is a higher 7.2 mg weekly pen.
| Form on Ro | How you take it | Cash price on Ro | Insurance on Ro? | Our deeper guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wegovy pen | Weekly shot | $199 intro, then $349 | Yes | This page |
| Wegovy pill | Daily tablet on an empty stomach | $149 to $299 by dose | No, cash only | Does Ro have the Wegovy pill? |
| Wegovy HD 7.2 mg | Weekly shot | $399 | Ask Ro; plans vary | Ro Wegovy HD review |
If your plan covers Wegovy, the pen is usually the one to ask about, because it's the only form Ro can bill to insurance. If you're paying cash and dislike needles, the pill's lower starting price may fit better. Your Ro provider decides which form, and which dose, is right for you.
Wegovy safety: what to know before you start
Wegovy has a boxed warning, the FDA's most serious kind, for thyroid C-cell tumors. In rodents, semaglutide caused these tumors; it's not known whether Wegovy causes them in people, including medullary thyroid cancer. Do not use Wegovy if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer (MTC), or if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
The most common side effects in the label are stomach-related: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation and stomach pain, plus headache, tiredness and others. Ro lists side-effect management as part of the membership. The label also warns about pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, low blood sugar when used with insulin or certain diabetes pills, kidney problems from dehydration, and severe stomach problems. Tell your provider about any planned surgery, because of a risk of food entering the lungs under anesthesia.
Call your provider right away about severe stomach pain that won't go away, or a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing or shortness of breath. Get medical help right away for signs of a serious allergic reaction. For the full picture, see our guide on whether Wegovy is safe.
Who should get Wegovy through Ro?
Ro makes the most sense when you need both a prescriber and help, either with insurance or with ongoing dose and side-effect support. It makes the least sense when you already have a prescriber, because NovoCare sells the same pen for the same price without a membership.
| If you... | Best first step |
|---|---|
| Have commercial insurance and no prescriber | Ro's free coverage check, then the pen through insurance |
| Pay cash and have no prescriber | Ro, ideally on a prepaid membership if you plan to stay a year |
| Already have a doctor who'll prescribe Wegovy | NovoCare direct, to skip the membership |
| Have Medicaid | Ro isn't an option; ask your state plan and your doctor |
| Have Medicare or TRICARE | Check your plan's Wegovy rules first; Ro offers cash pay only |
| Want a pill instead of a shot | Compare the Wegovy pill on Ro, cash only |

Frequently asked questions
Does Ro have Wegovy?
Yes. Ro offers the Wegovy pen, the Wegovy pill and Wegovy HD 7.2 mg, all FDA-approved brand-name semaglutide. On October 31, 2026, Ro listed the Wegovy pen as in stock. A Ro-affiliated provider prescribes it only if it's appropriate for you.
How much is Wegovy through Ro without insurance?
The Wegovy pen is $199 a month for new patients' first two fills at 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg, then $349 a month up to 2.4 mg, and $399 for Wegovy HD. Add Ro's membership: $39 the first month, then $74 to $149 a month. In our math, a first year runs about $5,164 to $5,915.
Does Ro take insurance for Wegovy?
For the Wegovy pen, yes. Ro's insurance team checks your coverage and handles prior authorization. The Wegovy pill is cash only on Ro, and insurance never covers the Ro membership.
Is Wegovy cheaper on Ro or NovoCare?
The medicine price is the same on both. NovoCare has no membership, so it's cheaper overall if you already have a prescriber. Ro includes the prescriber and insurance help, which is what its membership pays for.
Can I use the Wegovy savings card with Ro?
Possibly, if you have commercial insurance that covers Wegovy. Novo's offer says you may pay as little as $25 a month, with up to $100 a month in savings, and it excludes government plans. It's applied at the pharmacy, and it doesn't cover the Ro membership.
Does Ro prescribe Wegovy to people with Medicaid or Medicare?
Ro says Medicaid patients aren't eligible for treatment on Ro. People with Medicare or TRICARE may qualify for cash-pay options only. Federal employees with FEHB can use Ro's insurance team.
How long does it take to get Wegovy from Ro?
Ro says you'll know if you're eligible within 2 days. Paying cash, Ro says your first dose can arrive in less than a week. With insurance, Ro says prior authorization usually takes 1 to 2 weeks.
